Every day I have to use the Hardware Diagnostics tool to get sound from my Realtek speakers.  And then it lasts only a short time when I have to do it again.  I have NO problems with sound to headphones.

Could I delete the realtek driver and have one of the Intel audio drivers give me sound that I don't have reset everyday?  Is there another audio driver I could install as the default driver?

Thanks for anyones help!

@ElPresidente

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing weird sound issues with the HP Pavilion Laptop.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS F.27 from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Shut the computer off and then press and hold the Power button for 10 seconds to reset the EC (Embedded Controller) to re-initiate the speakers.
  • Try doing Reset PC Keep my files to check for any software issues.

When the sound from headphones are working fine with the same Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver then it could be a hardware issue on the speakers.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
