I suppose HP might not allows driver downloads for the old machine except through HPSA, but think it odd that I get no message. It just recycles in an endless loop asking me to add a machine to my profile. Might be me not doing something correctly. I need for a driver for the conexant adio device that I should not have deleted. I'd like to get my hands on ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp80001-80500/sp80323.exe, but am having zero luck connecting to that ftp server anonymously.

Hi,
You should be able to download your drivers from here
https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-probook-640-g2-notebook-pc/8430730
I see there are only the more recent drivers for audio conexant.
Hope it helps,
David
