HP ENVY x360 - 15m-bq121dx
Microsoft Windows 11

Fresh install of Windows 11 on my envy x360 ryzen 2500u everything seems fine except for the volume jacking its self to 100% seemingly at random. Installed the AMD chipset drivers directly from AMD since HP does not have anything available for win 11 regarding this computer despite it being a very capable machine. I've tried to install the drivers provided by HP but windows 11 insists it's driver is better and wont switch. Is there a driver out there that will correct this? Ideas?

Same problem after Win 23H2 update in late Feb/early March. Volume slider takes on a life of its own, annoying. Probably either the sound driver is not suitable or Microsoft has broken something.

Ok so you give this information and sat enable or disable it... was your issue solved by setting to 1 or 0? which one did you pick? Also My issues seem to happen only on USB audio devices. I really wish HP would do some testing and get some proper drivers out for this.

Yes, when you plug in the headphones, everything comes back. Unfortunately, this did not solve the problem.
and when the volume mouser is turned up to 100%, the keyboard stops working. The sound even at 100% is very quiet or very loud, not at all like it was before. Rolling back the drivers didn't help, reinstalling windows didn't help either. Or

managed to replace the realtek audio driver 6.0.9567.1 Rev.A of 2023 with the older 6.0.9414.1 Rev.A, 2022.
You are right that the drivers should be rewritten, because after updating Windows 23H2 KB5034848, the volume mixer began to add sound to 100% and the sound became much worse, even at maximum

Does removing/rolling back the update KB5034848 fix the issue in your situation?

HP Recommended

no, rolling back KB5034848 the update did not solve the problem, only reinstalling the audio driver from the new to the old one solved the problem
03.12.2024 update KV5035853 came and the volume returns again, you have to uninstall the audio driver and reinstall it. HP should do something with the drivers to avoid such problems!

I got it all worked out. I uninstalled all the audio drivers + controllers, then reinstalled them and everything has been fine for a week now.
