Raik, I'll definitely check it out and come back with my resolution shortly. Thanks for the info by the way.  Been looking into this more recently, and hopefully the vid you posted is the answer.

I appreciate the post by the way, you and GrrrHP.

Raik, although this is a better solution than Microsoft's HD audio driver, it doesn't allow me to use all of the laptop speakers that my Envy has.  I'm still having to choose between external speaker quality (Realtek/Microsoft drivers), and laptop speaker quality (Beats Audio).  Now that I use my laptop more as a traveling device, I rely more on my laptop speakers.

However, I appreciate the info supplied here.  Maybe other people that don't rely on their laptop speakers can benefit from your answer.

We still shouldn't have to choose between the two. We should be able to enjoy quality sound from both external speakers and the laptop speakers.  Unfortunately, I believe the drivers will never get updated to fix this issue completely.

Raik!! Thank you very much!!

I'm personally not knowledgeble enough to find out how it exactly worked, so i didn't advise it to anyone.

Same, I don't know how the hell I did. I don't recall but maye I took the vista64 folder from a ZIP driver, I might need to redo the video.

Good it worked for you. Don't worry, HP won't listen to anyone, the corporation only listens to money. If you want them to listen just don't ever buy a BEATS branded device again because to be fair I don't think its HP faults but theirs.

I think they might have their hands tied off (some sort of agreement with BEATS). I bought HP for the great support when you got a faulty device, you send it, they repair it and you got it back all within a week. They pay all the shipping.

But now I will double check if my next device has any beats garbage before buying regardless of manufacturer.

Now my HP laptop LOOKS great and SOUNDS great.

Yeah, not all devices might be the same. In my case both the laptop speakers and the headphone jack work as they should. Audio is managed by realtek driver just fine. I even use the audio from the HDMI with no problems (but thats another thing).

Try a different realtek driver from the list. Maybe one of those is the right one for your device, good luck!
