I've had Windows 11 on this laptop for months now and everything was fine until just the last few days.  I rarely use the laptop that much anymore so not really completely sure when the issue started.  Device Manager says all components are working properly but no sound is produced.  I've tried uninstalling all components and reinstalling to no avail.  Also did an OS reset to the baseline windows 11, no luck there either.  I've also tried HP Hardware DIagnostics and Intel Driver & Support Assistant tools, each report back that there are no updates to the drivers and the hardware appears to be working normally to them.  But still no sound.

Any ideas?  Am I missing something obvious?

Please try

   (a) Right click speaker icon,

   (b) Select Sound settings,

   (c) Select Speakers under Where to play sound window

Hope this helps.

Regards.

Yes, I had been doing that.  What I finally determined was that the physical speaker connection to the mainboard had come loose.  I opened her up and refitted the cable and everything is working normally again.
