[UPDATE: This solution does not solve the issue]

Ok, so far this is working. Please tell me if it solves the issue also on your laptop. 

If it does, please mark this as an "Accepted Solution" so that everyone can see it.

 

  • Expand “Sound, Video and Game controllers”  in Device Manager.
  • Right-click on all the audio devices listed there and uninstall them (on my laptop there were 3 of them).
  • Delete the drivers if a dialog box appears during the uninstall process.
  • Once done, click on View and select Devices by connection on the Device manager.
  • Expand ACPI x64 based PC.
  • Expand PCI Express Root complex and right-click on Intel Smart Sound technology Audio controller and uninstall the device.
  • Again, delete all drivers if asked during the process.
  • Once done, click on Action and Scan for hardware changes in the device manager.
  • Close device manager.
  • Open Settings.
  • Click on Update and Security and check for updates to get new audio drivers.
  • Restart the PC.

Thanks for the answer.  I will only be able to try this out next week when I get to a reliable Internet connection and don't rely on the x360 so much.

MY issue is that 8519 and NOW 8569 were making this "Windows Audio Device Graph Isolation" to run in the background and - WON'T STOP RUNNING even if NO application is open. It chews up ur battery and forces your cpu to run slow for other applications. See the task manager snip:still there

 

 

 

Been dealing with this ALL week.

I Have an HP Windows 10 laptop with fully updated 1809. HP tech is NO help at all. Wants to send you to that god awful Smart Friends - pay money - and get no real help anyway - They dont even know this exists to this day.

 

Windows tech finally got me to Level 2 tech who knew about the issue and there is ONLY 2 ways to fix it since RealTek has NOT.

 

  1. Roll ALL the way back to original RealTek driver 8248.. OR
  2. Turn OFF ALL your microphones functions.

I dont use the microhpone so I chose this. BOTH options do solve the issue.

 

Both options suck but until someone gets RealTek to fix this we're ALL screwed.

 

IF anyone has another alternative please let me know. GET THE WORLD OUT

You may have see some of my other posts. Well I just got off AGAIN with the nicest Level2 Tech at Windows. 

 

They recognize that this is a RealTek driver issue NOT talking properly with Windows. While they do say its a software issue they do NOT understand why HP tech support is not trying to help - which they are NOT. All I get from HP is to sign up for Smart Friends who WON'T be able to fix this issue anyway - even IF they know about it which they wont. INSANITY and makes me hate HP service even more.

 

Anyway... IF HP Support Assist had you install the NEW 8569 RealTek driver it won't fix the issue either. At this time Windows said to roll all the way back to orginal driver 8248 (which when I did it did NOT perform properly) OR just shut off the microphone feature comepletely. I chose that.

 

Windows tech guy said that they see its not an isolated issue and will try to get RealTek to fix it. Maybe get an update in a month or 2 if we're lucky.

 

The DISGRACE again here is that HP should NOT be forcing its customers to go thru this. TECH not Smart Friends (3rd party paid service) should be helping and advising us.

 

EVERYONE should bleep like crazy. I have. UGH

I agree completely.  We need some help here, otherwise my x360 is going back to the store.  The issue drains the battery and puts excessive wear on the fans, aside from the annoyance factor.

 

I had an Envy several years ago which had a memory leak due to a touchpad driver issue.  I put up with that but decided since HP couldn't be bothered to fix it I couldn't be bothered to buy another PC from them.  I wish I hadn't given them another chance now.  Is anyone from HP Support listening to this thread?

More than one month has passed and the issue is still here, I have tried any method I could find or I was suggested to use, none of them has worked. This is very disappointing, I am tired of dealing with loud fans and high temperatures every time I plug in my laptop for charging. If this problem won't be solved, I won't be able to recommend HP laptops again, as I always did.

I found a solution: I did a factory reset of the laptop. That was the only method I hadn't tried yet.

Still, I can't believe that HP won't be able to solve this extremely annoying issue.

HP are working on a fix, meanwhile uninstall Skype and that will stop such high CPU usage draining your battery and overheating your computer.   (The guy I spend two hours on the phone with was very conscientious, so a credit to HP,  but there are still thousands of people wasting thousands of hours trying everything they can to deal with this, so we need to let them know about this work-around and meanwhile demand that HP prioritise getting this deconflicted with Skype.
