Hi, Windows Update Realtek 9.21.3690.572 has broken microphone access on my fleet of laptops (Elite Dragonfly G3 Model 6G9P7PA). Teams, Windows Recorder and other apps say there is no microphone. I have tried downloading and installing the Audio driver from HP downloads (22.9585.9677.74 Rev.N Oct 12, 2023), but this did not fix the problem and I noted the driver version did not change in Device Manager (6.0.9585.1). I have a working laptop (yet to get the Windows update) running 6.0.9462.1. How do I get older versions of the HP drivers? Or anyone else fixed this issue?
Update: Using USB or Bluetooth microphones causes AUDIODG.EXE to crash. I tried installing older Realtek drivers from the Microsoft Update Catalogue and that did not fix the problem and the driver version for the Realtek Audio device did not update.

HP EliteBook 845 G9. Our users are porting that after receiving an update, the microphone(usb or builtin) stops working. Speaker works fine. The drivers being installed via windows updates are the following: Realtek Semiconductor Corp. - Media - 6.0.9585.1, Realtek - SoftwareComponent - 12.0.6000.308, Realtek - SoftwareComponent - 1.0.653.0 and AMD - System - 6.0.0.71.
Restart laptop and or uninstalling/re-installing driver does not resolve issue.
We found that the only solution to get microphone to start working again is to install Realtek - AudioProcessingObject - 13.223.1124.201 which is currently being found in 'Windows Update | Advanced Options | Optional Updates'. As soon as it is installed, the microphone start to work right away.
Are others experiencing this issue? If so, please post message here to pressure HP/Microsoft to investigate issue and please open support cases with HP and Microsoft. We've opened a case with Microsoft and HP but they are blaming each other with no real action to look into this issue.
