Hello, the microphone implementation in this laptop as is is pretty unusable.

Windows 11 25H2, two different Windows 11 installs later and the AMD microphone array is still extremely quiet. All Windows audio settings are set to maximum. Both Teams and voice recordings are extremely quiet.
HP Support assistant does not provide any newer drivers.

Uninstalling and reinstalling the whole microphone array did not help.

I will try a Ubuntu installation later on and report if I get any better resolutions.

The laptop is pretty much new, I'll also check the physical holes for mics but that is a long shot.

EDIT:

Ubuntu 25 same results.

Cleaning the two microphone holes at the top of the screen did not help.

Is this an RMA issue?
EDIT2:
Latest BIOS as of 12.12.2025 did not help.
