Product: HP Spectre x360 - 15-df0043dx
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

My HP Spectrum X360 15t has an "x" by the speaker icon in the bottom task. In task manager, updating the sound drivers does not resolve the problem or sound mixer problems. I have upgraded to Windows 11, with no sound card success.

 

QUESTIONS: 

1).  Is there room in this device to add an internal sound card?

 

2). Suspecting an integrated motherboard failure, is it possible to utilize and external sound card to USB? HDMI? Or, Thunderbolt ports as opposed to purchasing and detail install of a new motherboard?

Hi @Robfl_JAX 

 

You must first check if in Device Manager in Audio and Video and Game you have the Realtek audio driver installed
