There are software options to boost volume, but they can damage speakers over time. VLC Player also provides volume beyond 100%, and it works great, I've used it on two laptops over 5-6 years old without any issues. It's a better choice; VLC's per-app boost (up to 200-300%) is a smart, low-risk option for media playback, as I've experienced on older laptops, since it avoids system-wide amplification that can cause clipping over time, though we still can't guarantee it never damages speakers or reduces lifespan. You can use VLC Media Player if you want.

The best and safest option is getting good external speakers, as they are indeed the safest and best long-term solution for louder, clearer sound without risking your laptop's built-in speakers.

Thanks so much Venom21 ... I am considering buying external speakers as a safer option... VLC Player is a good option thanks..... My laptop is hp 17.3 inch laptop 17-cn4031tu which is only 1-2 years old so I wonder if that makes a difference in performance with the VLC ?? ....

No, the age of your HP Laptop 17-cn4031TU (a 2024 model with Intel Core 7 150U, 17.3-inch FHD display, and integrated Intel Graphics) doesn't meaningfully change VLC's safety or performance for volume boosting compared to your older 5-6-year laptops. Vlc performance will be good and expected

On PC search it on browser, VLC player and it's site will appear form where you can download. It's also available on Android and can be downloaded from play store
