Hi @TOBILOBA2-_
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating audio issue on your HP Notebook 15-da1211nia.
Here are some steps you can try to resolve the crackling sound:
Update Audio Drivers:
- Open Device Manager (search for it in the Start menu).
- Expand the "Sound, video and game controllers" section.
- Right-click on your audio driver (likely Realtek or Intel) and select "Update driver."
- Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."
Disable Audio Enhancements:
- Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Sounds."
- Go to the "Playback" tab, right-click your audio device, and select "Properties."
- In the "Enhancements" tab, check "Disable all sound effects" or uncheck any enhancements, then click "Apply."
Adjust Sample Rate and Bit Depth:
- Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Sounds."
- Go to the "Playback" tab, select your audio device, and click "Properties."
- In the "Advanced" tab, change the Default Format to a different sample rate (e.g., 16-bit, 44100 Hz) and test the audio.
Check Power Settings:
- Open Control Panel > Power Options.
- Ensure you're using the "Balanced" or "High Performance" plan.
- Click "Change plan settings" next to the selected plan, then "Change advanced power settings."
- Expand "Processor power management" and ensure "Minimum processor state" is set to 100%.
Run Audio Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
- Select "Playing Audio" and run the troubleshooter.
Inspect Audio Jack:
- If the sound cracks when you change position, the audio jack might be loose or damaged. Try gently cleaning it with a soft brush or compressed air.
Test with External Speakers:
- Connect external speakers or headphones to see if the issue persists. If external devices work fine, the problem might be with the internal speakers.
Reinstall Audio Drivers:
- In Device Manager, right-click the audio driver and select "Uninstall device."
- Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.
If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
