The microphone does not work on this device since I updated drivers for it, I have tried to roll back the drivers which has not been successful,  it looks like the built in microphone appears on the Realtek provided drivers but does not work its just static noise. Also with the Realtek drivers the audio level cannot be adjusted whatsoever. The level is the same from 1-100.

 

When I revert the Realtek drivers to the generic audio drivers in windows the audio levels can be changed but it is considerably quieter. Also the built in microphone no longer appears in the device list and cannot be used.

 

This is causing me many issues as I need access to my laptops microphone. I have tried many different versions of drivers, I've tried updating the bios and many other solutions provided in other posts.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

 

I see that you are facing an issue with the speakers on your Laptop.

 

Please follow the steps below to perform an audio test to confirm if the hardware is working fine.

1) Shut down the computer.

2) Turn the computer back on again and repeatedly tap on the ESC until a Startup menu appears.  

3) Press F2 once.

4) click Component Tests > click Audio, and then click Run once.

 

Confirm if you are able to increase and decrease the volume using the physical volume buttons on the keyboard.

 

If the hardware is working fine. Update the BIOS for your PC by clicking on the link.

 

Make sure you keep only the charger plugged in while updating the BIOS for your PC.

Click on the + sign next to BIOS and then download the file.

Open the file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

 

Please install all the pending updates for the Windows operating system following the below steps.

go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select Check for updates. If the upgrade is available for your device and you want to proceed, download and install it.
