Hi @Adelmahmoud,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the audio is not working on your HP Notebook 15, you can try a series of troubleshooting steps to identify and fix the issue. Here's a step-by-step guide.
Check the Volume: It may sound obvious, but make sure the volume on your laptop is turned up and not muted. Look for the volume controls on your keyboard or in the system tray (usually a speaker icon). Also, check if any external speakers or headphones are properly connected and have their own volume controls.
Restart Your Laptop: Sometimes, audio issues can be resolved by simply restarting your computer. Restarting can help reset any temporary software glitches.
Check the Audio Output Device:
- Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray (usually in the lower right corner of the screen).
- Select "Open Sound settings."
- Under "Output," ensure that the correct audio output device (e.g., speakers or headphones) is selected.
Update Audio Drivers:
- Go to the HP support website (support.hp.com).
- Enter your laptop's model number or let the website automatically detect it.
- Look for audio drivers and download the latest ones for your laptop.
- Install the drivers and restart your laptop if prompted.
Windows Troubleshooter:
- Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray.
- Select "Troubleshoot sound problems" and follow the on-screen instructions.
Check Sound Settings in Windows:
- Right-click on the speaker icon and select "Open Sound settings."
- Make sure that the correct playback device is selected under "Choose your output device."
Check for Audio Services:
- Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type "services.msc" and press Enter.
- Look for the Windows Audio service. Make sure it is running. If not, right-click it, and select "Start."
Check for Hardware Issues:
- If you've tried all the software troubleshooting steps and the issue persists, there could be a hardware problem.
System Restore: If the audio was working previously but stopped after a recent software change or update, you can try using System Restore to revert your system to a state where the audio was functioning correctly.
Factory Reset: If all else fails and you're sure it's not a hardware issue, you may consider performing a factory reset to restore your laptop to its original settings. Be sure to back up your data before doing this, as it will erase all your files and programs.
Remember to go through these steps systematically, and check if the audio starts working after each one. This will help you pinpoint the cause of the issue and hopefully resolve it.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
