Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I have a HP Spectre x360. The audio is stuck on mute in desktop mode but goes to 100 when i rotate it into tablet mode. Also I cannot switch between active programs using mouse click on taskbar. I can see them when i hover over a group of tabs but it does not open any when i click. The only way is by using alt-tab.

I have tried using a different mouse for the tab issue. I have tried headphones for audio issue. neither worked.

I have updated audio drivers several times. And it hasnt fixed the issue.

I have done complete fresh windows 10 install through settings >recovery. cleaned up all my files. This hasnt fixed the issue.

I have also run hardware diagnostic scans using hp diagnostic tools. and none of the tools find any problems.

Please help!

I understand that audio is stuck on mute and unable to open active tabs.

Do not worry. I will try to fix the issue.

Please try updating the computer, this will install the latest updates -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type, and open Windows Updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 Install updates using HP Support Assistant

  1. In the search box, type, and open HP Support Assistant.
  2. Check for updates.
  3. If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.
