Product: OMEN by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-wf0000 (755G3AV)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11
Can I connect a standard 3.5 mm plug into the combined (ear piece and mic) socket on my omen gaming laptop so I can connect external loud speakers?

Hi @jim756
Yes, it can but the quality may be compromised by the watts of power.

OK, thanks.
I intend to use active speakers i.e. where the enclosure has a loudspeaker and an amplifier. It will need power either from a Type A USB socket or a power supply (wall wart) if the active speakers are particularly powerful.
Thanks for your help.
