I am trying to do home recording with a brand new HP laptop and the recordings are distorted. I've been told that Bloatware is causing my problem and I need to delete HP Presence but I can't find a way to do that,. Help.

Hi @menosmichaelmas,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I Understand your concern about  rescording issue, don’t worry let me help you with this.

Here’s what you can try:

  • Uninstall HP Presence:
    1. Press Windows + I to open Settings.
    2. Go to Apps > Installed apps.
    3. Scroll down and look for HP Presence.
    4. Click the three dots next to it and select Uninstall.
  • Check audio enhancements:
Even after uninstalling, Windows may still apply audio effects. Right-click the speaker icon in your taskbar → Sound settings → choose your recording device → under Properties, disable any “Enhancements” or “Spatial audio” features.
  • Update drivers:
Visit HP Support  https://support.hp.com/ and make sure your audio drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can cause distortion.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
