Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have an HP Pavillion 11  I use it when I travel.  I Skype or Whatsapp with my niece weekly as she is in a different city than I am.   Prior years I have had no problem.  However this year as I am in Malaysia until mid March, I discovered that on either Skype or Whatsapp, the sound I get rapidly deteriorates.  This does not happen on my Samsung phone or my desktop.  Both desktop and laptop use Windows 10.  I made a recording but do not see  a way to attach it here.  I sent logs to Skype but no answer, I sent the recording to Whatsapp but nothing solved.  Geeksquad and a local computer tech who is replacing the battery both said the driver is up to date and the hardware is fine.
