Hello HP Community,

I am experiencing an issue with the built-in microphone on my HP laptop. The microphone is producing distorted and unclear audio when used on Linux ( Ubuntu 20.04). Despite trying multiple troubleshooting methods, the issue persists. Here’s a detailed overview of the problem and steps I've already taken:

Laptop Model:

  • HP Model: (HP Elitebook G5 830)

Issue:

  • The internal microphone works, but the audio quality is distorted, with unclear sound during recordings and voice calls.

I would greatly appreciate any guidance on how to resolve this issue or if there are specific drivers or settings that I might need to install or adjust

Unfortunately this device does not have a Linux driver.

I believe it is an incompatibility of the driver, and that is why this issue of distorted audio remains.
