Check on the HP Software and Driver web site.  I suggest you reinstall or install the latest Conexant Audio driver.  The functionality you are describing is control via the audio driver.

 

When you search the site for the appropriate driver you will need to know the exact model of you EliteBook so you can be directed to the appropriate support page.
