Navigate to Drivers & Software:
- Click on your laptop model from the search results.
- Choose "Drivers & Software" from the menu.
Select the Operating System:
- Ensure the correct operating system is selected (Windows 10, Windows 11, etc.).
Find the Audio Drivers:
- Look for the "Driver-Audio" section or similar.
- Locate the Realtek audio driver.
Download the Driver:
- Click the download button next to the Realtek driver to get the latest version.
Install the Driver:
- Once downloaded, locate the file in your downloads folder.
- Double-click the file and follow the on-screen instructions to install it.
Restart Your Laptop:
- After the installation is complete, restart your laptop to ensure the changes take effect.
Additional Steps (if needed):
Device Manager:
- Right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager."
- Expand "Sound, video and game controllers."
- Right-click on your Realtek device and select "Update driver."

Thank you Irwin6. I followed your instructions to the letter but the Realtek driver doesn't install!
Device Manager doesn't even have a "Sound, Video and game controllers" category.
I am at a loss. I don't understand what the BIOS update did to remove this driver and create a scenario whereby it is not reinstalling.
Please advise if possible.

Dear Irwin6,
although none of your suggestions resolved the issue, I kept on digging and came across a Dell user with the same issue who saw a Realtek Driver listed in Programs and Features.
I checked Programs and Features and saw that there was a Realtek driver listed as well.
I uninstalled it and rebooted and the Realtek driver once again appeared in Device Manager under Sound, Video and Game Controllers!
I'm not sure why the BIOS update resulted in this condition???
Thanks for your help all the same.
Best Regards.
