When I plug my G733 headset into my newly purchased HP Omen laptop, it emits a full crackling sound every 3.30 minutes. When I turn it on and off it fixes itself again.

Hi @ardaa0

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing intermittent crackling audio when using your G733 headset with your HP Omen laptop. This could be caused by several different factors, such as driver issues, a poor connection, or software conflicts. Below are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:

1. Check the Headset on Another Device

First, confirm that the issue is not with the headset itself:

  • Test the G733 headset on another device (such as a phone or another laptop) to see if the crackling noise persists. If it does, the problem might be with the headset itself. If it doesn't, continue with the steps below.

2. Update Audio Drivers

Outdated or incompatible drivers are a common cause of audio issues. Follow these steps to update your drivers:

  1. Open Device Manager:
    • Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
  2. Update Audio Drivers:
    • In Device Manager, expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
    • Right-click your audio device (e.g., Realtek, Conexant, or Intel audio) and select Update Driver.
    • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
  3. Check for Windows Updates:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for Updates to make sure your system is up to date.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
