Hi @rado888,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
If the 3D Spatial Sound option is grayed out and cannot be activated on your HP Spectre x360 14-inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 14-eu0000, it could be due to various factors such as outdated drivers or an unsupported configuration. Here’s how you can troubleshoot and potentially activate 3D Spatial Sound:
Steps to Enable 3D Spatial Sound:
Check Audio Driver Update:
- Update the audio drivers through Device Manager:
- Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Sound, video, and game controllers.
- Right-click on your audio device (usually Realtek or Intel) and select Update driver.
- Choose Search automatically for drivers to let Windows find any updates.
- Alternatively, download the latest audio drivers from the HP support website for your laptop model.
Enable Windows Sonic for Headphones:
- Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar.
- Select Spatial sound (Off) and choose Windows Sonic for Headphones.
- This option should become available if you’re using supported headphones or audio devices.
Install or Update Dolby Access or DTS Sound Unbound:
- Dolby Atmos or DTS Headphonemay need to be enabled for spatial sound.
- Open the Microsoft Store and search for Dolby Access or DTS Sound Unbound.
- Download and install the app.
- Once installed, open the app and follow the instructions to activate 3D spatial sound.
- These applications may require a one-time purchase or trial activation.
Check Audio Output Device:
- Ensure you're using compatible output devices (such as headphones or speakers) that support spatial sound. Some built-in laptop speakers might not support advanced spatial sound features.
- Try connecting external headphones or audio devices that are spatial sound compatible, and see if the option becomes available.
Windows Update:
- Make sure your Windows 11 system is fully updated. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any pending updates, as some updates may include audio enhancements or fixes for spatial sound.
If the Spatial Sound option remains grayed out after following these steps, it’s possible that your system hardware or audio device does not support this feature, or it may require specific external audio hardware for activation.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
