In Zoom, my laptop mic only records my voice (very clearly) but not my guitar, can settings be adjusted to pick up background noise  (rather than cancel it out) ? thank you

Thank you, after some digging, the fix was ...,....

I went into windows sounds setting and under "microphone array" there is an "audio enhancements" option to select "off" and this allows my guitar to be heard when using zoom.

Hi @RGBLoke,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand you need to enable the settings of the microphone to pickup background noise.

Sure, I will help your laptop to listen to your concert. 😊 😊

Please try the below suggestion:

In Windows, search for and open Control Panel, and then select Sound.

Click the Recording tab in the Sound window.

Right click on the Microphone Array and select properties.

Then choose levels and slide the Microphone Boost level to a higher value and click Apply and OK, now check if the recordings are satisfactory.

If this solution hit the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
