I have the same crackling and popping problem. Hooked up to a few thousand dollar jbl speaker system the and a pioneer dj controller i get the popping noise. tried many drivers, and also friends laptops that are not hp and the controller and or speakers work just fine.. its obviously an hp problem but from what i can get out it is buy a new lap top not hp if you want quality sound out of speakers

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Have you checked with different headphone or external speakers?
  • Does it happen when you connect your JBL speakers and other console? 
  • Does internal speakers working correctly?
  • Did you make any changes on the settings of your PC prior to the issue?
  • When was the last time it worked fine?

Keep me posted for further assistance.
