Hi @AF0308,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I’m sorry to hear about the trouble with your HP S3100 speakers not being recognized by your NUC. It must be frustrating, especially when you're trying to get everything working smoothly. Let’s figure this out together.
- Are the speakers connected through a 3.5mm audio jack or USB?
- Have the speakers worked with other devices recently, or could this be a hardware issue with the speakers?
- Does the NUC recognize other audio devices, such as headphones, when connected?
Let's try these steps.
Verify Connections
- Ensure the audio cable (3.5mm jack or USB) is firmly connected to the appropriate port on both the speakers and the NUC.
- Try using a different port, if available, to rule out port issues.
Check Audio Settings
- Right-click the sound icon in the taskbar and select Sounds.
- Under the Playback tab, look for the speakers. If listed, set them as the default device.
- If not listed, proceed with further steps.
Update or Reinstall Audio Drivers
- Visit the Intel NUC support page for your specific model (NUC 13N-ANH-B) and download the latest audio drivers for your operating system.
- Alternatively, update drivers through Device Manager:
- Right-click Start → Device Manager → Expand Sound, video, and game controllers.
- Right-click the audio device and choose Update driver or Uninstall device, then restart the system to reinstall it automatically.
Test with Another Device
- Connect the HP S3100 speakers to another device, such as a phone or another computer, to confirm they are working properly.
Enable Audio in BIOS
- Restart the NUC and press the key to enter the BIOS (usually F2).
- Check for an option related to onboard audio or sound, and ensure it is enabled.
- Save and exit the BIOS, then test the speakers again.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
