@Juliet1390, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

If you are experiencing sound issues on your HP Envy x360 15.6 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

Check Volume Settings:

  • Make sure that the volume is not muted. You can check this by clicking on the speaker icon on the taskbar and adjusting the volume slider.
  • Ensure that the volume is turned up in the application you are using, such as Microsoft Teams.

Check Audio Output:

  • Ensure that the correct playback device is selected. Right-click the sound icon in the system tray, select "Sounds," go to the "Playback" tab, and make sure your speakers or headphones are set as the default device.

Update Audio Drivers:

  • Go to the Official HP Support site and enter your product number.
  • Navigate to "Software, Drivers and Firmware" and look for the latest audio drivers.
  • Download and install them, then restart your laptop.

Run Windows Troubleshooter:

  • Right-click the sound icon in the system tray and select "Troubleshoot sound problems."
  • Follow the prompts in the troubleshooter to identify and fix any issues.

Check Audio Services:

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Locate "Windows Audio" from the list, ensure it's running, and set to automatic. If it's stopped, right-click and select "Start."

Reinstall Audio Drivers:

  • Open Device Manager by pressing Windows + X and selecting "Device Manager."
  • Expand the "Sound, video and game controllers" section, right-click your audio driver, and select "Uninstall device."
  • Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers.

Check Application Settings:

  • In Microsoft Teams, go to Settings > Devices and check that the correct microphone and speakers are selected.
