HP iPAQ 111 Classic Handheld

I chose the notebook board to post this, I couldn't find one for iPAQs. So pretty much, my audio jack is having issues. At first I thought it was a software issue, but it seems like a hardware issue. It does play sound. When earphones are fully plugged in, I hear some loud sounds, and voices become incredibly quiet, and some music is very quiet as well. When I move the jack out slightly, I can hear everything clearly, and it sounds great. I don't want to keep having to move out my earphone plug, so is there a way to fix this?

Could my headphones be an issue? I am using Apple wired earpods with inline controls and mic.
