Hp spectre folio

Hello

I have HP spectre folio windows 10 16 GM, 1 TB.

They internal speakers are not working at all. Bluetooth connected speakers and wire connected headphones are working normally. I took the laptop to one of the local laptop repair shops and he said we have to cut the leather in order to reach the inside parts of the laptop!

I was not convinced, and I need your help with it as I cannot do any format because I need my info, apps and files for my online studies.

Thanks in advance

@HamadUCL

I reviewed your post and I understand that the internal speakers are not working.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

What is the product number of your computer?

Meanwhile, I recommend you run the audio troubleshooter and it will automatically find and fix audio related issues.

Here is how it is done.

  - Launch Troubleshooting by typing and clicking “Troubleshooting” in Windows search.

  - Click on "Playing Audio".

  - Follow the on-screen instructions.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

P.S: Welcome to the HP Support Community 😊

Cheers!

@HamadUCL Did you check with a headphone or an external set of speakers to check if that works?

Did you update to the latest drivers from the HP website?

(Click here to find and install, if you haven't)

If the issue persists, please try the below steps:

  1. Go to Windows Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers section.
  2. In the list of audio device drivers, look for Realtek High Definition Audio or Conexant (depending on what driver you have).
  3. Right-click and select Disable. The downward arrow displays on this driver, indicating it is disabled. (NOTE: At this point, you won’t be able to play any music files.)
  4. Right-click and select Update Driver Software.
  5. Select Browse my computer for driver software.
  6. Select Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
  7. You should see a window that says Select the device driver you want to install for this hardware. NOTE: If you see a window that says something like This is the best driver for this device, exit the window and repeat steps 4, 5, and 6.
  8. In the Model box, highlight High Definition Audio Device (this is the substitute audio device driver) and click Next.
  9. At the Update Driver Warning window, click Yes. You should see a confirmation window with High Definition Audio Device displayed. Click Close.
  10. In the list of audio device drivers in the Sound, video and game controllers section, you’ll notice that the High Definition Audio Device now displays instead of Realtek High Definition Audio.
  11. At the prompt to reboot, click Yes.
  12. This should resolve the issue, so smile 🙂

if not, Keep us posted,

Thanks for your help and response

I tried the steps you told me to do but unfortunately I only found two versions of realtek high definition audio (2019&2020). I did not find high definition audio device and therefore couldn't find it under sound, video and game controller.

Really appreciate your help, but do you have any futher steps to fix my problem??

HP Recommended

@HamadUCL That's probably because you have a different driver,
I suggest you remove anything you can find under Sound, Video and Game Controller, and delete it.

Let me know how that pans out.
