Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Notebook - 15 has lost its sound device, you can try these steps to restore it.
Check if the Sound Device is Disabled
- Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand Sound, video, and game controllers.
- If your audio device is missing, go to View > Show hidden devices.
- If your device appears but is disabled (has a down-arrow icon), right-click it and select Enable.
Reinstall the Audio Driver
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand Sound, video, and game controllers.
- Right-click your audio device (e.g., Realtek High Definition Audio) and select Uninstall device.
- Restart your laptop—Windows should automatically reinstall the driver.
Download and Install Audio Drivers from HP
- Go to HP’s official support website.
- Enter your laptop's model number and go to the Drivers & Software section.
- Download and install the latest audio driver (e.g., Realtek or AMD Audio).
- Restart your laptop.
Run Windows Troubleshooter
- Press Win + I to open Settings.
- Go to System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Click Run next to Playing Audio and follow the prompts.
Check Audio Services
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
- Look for Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder.
- Right-click each and select Restart.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
