Per this discussion:

There are known issues with my laptop and the speakers with Linux.  I am currently on Mint and have the latest Kernel (6.11).  There are several fixes referenced in the above discussion, but I have no idea if any of them will work for me?  I am a software developer, so I'm not afraid to dig deep, but I don't really have any experience with tweaking OS level stuff (drivers, etc.).  But, if anyone can point me towards a solution that would be great.  I'm happy to try some of the aforementioned solutions, but since my laptop is different than the ones referenced, I don't want to just keep throwing things at it.

Thanks!
Brian

If you are looking for an expert on OS level stuff, especially in terms of audio, then AAF Optimus is the person, who is also very skilled at modifying Realtek drivers.

Here is the profile link on TechPowerUp, this is the Github link.

For any that happen along here - I actually found out it was a hardware issue.  I had upgraded some components in this laptop (bigger SSD) and I think a cable was either loose or got kinda crimped.  Got it working now.  Typical I. D. Ten T error.
