My mic audio is delayed by 0.5 to 1 sec consistently. This happens with any mic, internal or external.

I have installed like 10 different drivers, done rollbacks, and turned off enhancements / turned off exclusive mode for apps

I eventually reset my whole laptop, and still the issue persists exactly as it did before.

@key3mon, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Audio Delay on HP Envy x360!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Experiencing audio delay with your microphone can be frustrating, especially if you've tried various solutions like installing different drivers, disabling enhancements, and resetting your laptop. Here are some additional steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

1. Check Windows Sound Settings

  • Set Default Device: Ensure your microphone is set as the default device in Windows sound settings.
  • Volume and Mute: Verify that the microphone volume is turned up and not muted.
  • Audio Format: Try setting the audio format to one of the 16-bit options.

2. Update Audio Drivers

  • Go to Device Manager, expand "Sound, video and game controllers," right-click your sound hardware, and select "Update driver." Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."

3. Run Windows Update

  • Make sure your Windows 11 or Windows 10 is up-to-date. Check for updates under Settings > Windows Update and install any pending updates.

4. Use Windows Audio Troubleshooter

  • Navigate to Control Panel > Troubleshooting > Hardware and Sound > Troubleshoot audio recording. Follow the on-screen instructions to detect and resolve issues.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

sorry, forgot the password to this account.

None of these fixes worked. it happens with any mic, so as expected the driver changes didnt work. i am on the newest version of windows, and ive even updated my bios. Is this an issue with all hp envy x360s, or just mine? Is this an issue warranty will solve?

Its very unacceptable, and recording videos looks wacky because my voice is out of touch with the recording and there is lip desync

I have the same issue with my new Zbook and it's a big problem as it impacts my ability to speak in meetings. I have tried every fix offered and nothing has worked. This seems like a wide spread issue. Is there a solve here?
