HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 15-ed0985nd
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello community,

I have this laptop since 3 weeks now, and suddenly the microphone is not working anymore. It started with  the LED of the f5-button to mute-speakers , and the LED of the f8-button to mute-microphone  which didnt turn on anymore when I pressed them. Now the microphone is not working, actually it is not detected at all. when I open voice recorder, It says that there is no microphone available, while the microphone is integrated in the laptop lmao. I opened the device manager and checked if there is an update of all of the drivers, but the are all up to date. I opened hp support assistant, and the troubleshooter of windows for the microphone, but both say that there is no microphone available. How can I solve this problem? I tried to download the Realtek driver on the hp site, but it says that it is not compatible with my OS, even when the OS is the same according to the description. There are no other audio drivers available on the page of hp. Please help!

Edit 1. : BTW, Intel smart sound technology gives an errorcode 10 in the device manager. no update available. I don't know if that could be the reason

Okay, so this topic was already discussed at this forum. I found out that deleting the intel smart device programme will bring everything back to normal as long as you don't update it again from windows update, because then the deleted programme comes back, and so does the problem. Someone said that the new windows update 2004 solved this problem, but I cannot confirm that, because the mine is updated as well, but has still the same problem (as long as you don't delete that **bleep** programme of intel)

@MC-ENVY

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
To resolve these issues, please manually remove AMD Audio Driver from device manager and then install the softpaq SP107346.
Click here to download and install AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver. If you have intel then install drivers from here

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
