A week or so ago, I did the Windows update and somehow lost the sound on my laptop. I managed to figure out a way to get audio back, but the internal microphone still isn't working.
When I go into input devices in the sound settings, the only choice is the Microphone Array, and when I try to change the input volume (as it's set to 0), it won't let me.
I have tried:
* making sure my microphone has permissions enabled (when I plug in another microphone, that works fine)
* making sure to run the HP Support Assistant (it says no issues found)
* reinstalling the drivers
* installing RealTek drivers (that's what got me the audio back)
* making sure I have the most recent updated drivers
* making sure the Device Manager shows no unrecognized drivers
* going into the BIOS
* bringing the laptop back to factory standards
My laptop specs:
* HP Envy x360 Convertible 15-Ed
* Windows 11
* x64-based PC
* 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor
* BIOS version: Insyde F.43, 10/17/24 (UEFI mode)
HELP! 🙂 Thanks in advance.

No Windows 11 drivers on its home page
https://support.hp.com/nz-en/drivers/hp-envy-15-ed0000-x360-convertible-laptop-pc-series/32552495
Please try a clean install Audio driver
1. Download https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp131501-132000/sp131797.exe
and save on your computer
2. Use Device Manager to uninstall audio driver (if any),
3. Reboot machine,
4. Install downloaded file above,
5. Reboot machine.
Hope this helps.
Regards

Nope. As mentioned, had tried this before - but did it again just in case.
Audio comes in fine, but no mic ability. Screencaps of situation below.

1. Check Device Manager:
- Open Device Manager and look for any devices under Other Devices with yellow triangles, indicating driver issues.
- Right-click on the problematic devices (e.g., Digital Microphone) and select Update Driver. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software. If no drivers are found, consider manually downloading drivers from the HP Support website for your specific laptop model
2. Uninstall and Reinstall Drivers:
- In Device Manager, right-click on the microphone device and select Uninstall device. Confirm the action.
- Restart your laptop; Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers upon reboot.
I was having the same issue, but after applying these two things I got that 2nd point has worked for me.
