Hi @bucky845,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
That sounds super frustrating, especially when basic things like volume control and Bluetooth stop working on your Chromebook. Let’s try a few easy steps to get you back on track:
Try This First: Simple Reset
- Do a Hard Reset (won’t delete anything):
- Press and hold the Refresh 🔄 key + tap the Power button once.
- When the Chromebook restarts, let go.
- Check Bluetooth:
- Click the clock in the bottom-right.
- Look for the Bluetooth icon — is it missing or greyed out?
- If missing, it could be a software or hardware issue.
- If it’s there, try turning it off and back on.
- Volume Buttons Not Responding?
- Try adjusting volume from the taskbar (bottom-right speaker icon).
- If that works, the physical volume keys may need a keyboard reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
