Hi @kumarwaudio,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting the details. Since the audio is not working on your HP laptop running Windows 11 with Realtek audio, try the following recommended steps to identify whether the issue is related to Windows, the audio driver, or the hardware.

1. Check the volume and audio device

  • Make sure the speakers are not muted.
  • Select the speaker icon on the Windows taskbar and confirm the correct output device is selected.
  • Disconnect any headphones or external speakers and test the built-in speakers.

2. Run the Windows Audio Troubleshooter
Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters and run the Audio troubleshooter. Follow the recommendations provided.

3. Check the audio device and driver

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager
  2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers
  3. Locate Realtek Audio
  4. Check whether it is disabled or has a yellow warning symbol.
  5. If an update is available, update the audio driver.

Also check Other devices for an audio device with a warning symbol, which can indicate a missing or incorrectly installed driver.

4. Run HP Audio Check
If HP Support Assistant is installed, open it and run Audio Check under Fixes & Diagnostics. This checks the audio hardware and Windows audio configuration.

5. Install the latest HP audio driver
Use the HP Support page for your exact laptop model and install the latest Realtek Audio driver for Windows 11 available for your system.

6. Test the audio hardware

  1. Shut down the laptop.
  2. Turn it on and repeatedly press Esc until the Startup Menu appears.
  3. Press F2
  4. Select Component Tests > Audio and run the test, if available.

If the test passes, the audio hardware is functioning, and the issue is more likely related to Windows or the driver. If it fails, note the Failure ID.

For the complete HP troubleshooting procedure, refer to: HP PCs - No sound from speakers | HP® Support

If the issue continues, share the exact HP laptop model, whether Realtek Audio appears in Device Manager, and the F2 Audio test result/Failure ID. This will help determine the next step.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
