You can first use the HP UEFI Hardware Diagnostics utility to test the audio hardware.

While powering on the computer, repeatedly press F2 to enter the diagnostics menu, then navigate to:

Component Tests → Audio Test

Follow the on-screen instructions to test the speakers.

If you can hear the test audio during the diagnostic process, the speaker hardware is generally functioning correctly. In that case, the issue is more likely related to Windows settings, audio drivers, or software configuration.

You may then try uninstalling all audio-related devices and drivers from Device Manager, including:

  • Realtek Audio (if present)
  • Intel Smart Sound Technology (Intel SST)
  • Any other audio-related devices

After uninstalling them, restart the computer and allow Windows to automatically reinstall the default drivers, then check whether the issue is resolved.

If there is no sound even during the UEFI Audio Test, a hardware-related issue becomes more likely. In that case, it is recommended to contact an HP Authorized Service Center for further diagnosis and repair.
