I have no sound from the speakers on my laptop. I have sound through my earbuds, but not the speakers on the laptop. I get the message: when I connect earbuds I hear sound but I hear nothing through my laptop speaker. It says no audio device is installed. I've run all the diagnostics and they say the problem is fixed but it is not. The  only problem I can think of that might have messed it up is that I updated to windows 11 or Norton updated some drivers. I need an easy clear solution please.

Hi @martic329,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I’m really sorry to hear that your HP Spectre x360 speakers stopped working, especially after updating to Windows 11. I know how frustrating it can be when the laptop shows “no audio device installed” even though earbuds work and diagnostics say everything is fine. Don’t worry — I’ll help you with simple and clear steps to get your sound working again.

BIOS Restore:

  •  Shut down the computer, keep the charger plugged in
  •  Hold down the Windows + B buttons together while the computer is still turned off.
  • Turn on the computer and continue to hold the Windows + B buttons until a BIOS Recovery screen appears.

Follow the on-screen instructions and click on OK.

Device Manager:

  • Go to device manager
  • Click on audio inputs and outputs
  • Speakers.
  • Click on right click and uninstall and restart the system
  • Restart the PC.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
