Hi @Adayou812,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing a hardware or driver-related issue with the speakers on your HP ENVY x360 - M6 laptop. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the problem.

Update Audio Drivers: Outdated or corrupted audio drivers can cause problems with your speakers. Visit the HP support website and download the latest audio drivers for your laptop model. Install them and see if the issue persists.

Restart Windows Audio Service: Sometimes, the Windows Audio Service can encounter issues that affect the functionality of your speakers. You can try restarting this service to see if it helps. Here's how:

  • Press Win + R to open the Run dialog.
  • Type services.msc and press Enter.
  • Locate "Windows Audio" in the list of services.
  • Right-click on it and select "Restart."

Check Sound Settings:

  • Right-click the sound icon in your taskbar and select "Open Sound settings."
  • Under the "Output" section, make sure the correct output device (speakers) is selected.

Run Troubleshooters:

  • In Windows 10, you can run the built-in troubleshooters to automatically identify and fix some common audio issues.
  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot. Run the "Playing Audio" troubleshooter.

Disable Audio Enhancements:

  • Sometimes, audio enhancements or effects can interfere with the proper functioning of speakers. Disable any enhancements by following these steps:
    • Right-click the sound icon in your taskbar and select "Open Sound settings."
    • Click on "Sound Control Panel" on the right side.
    • Select your speakers, click on "Properties," go to the "Enhancements" tab, and check "Disable all enhancements."

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Make sure your operating system is up to date. Sometimes, Windows updates include fixes for various hardware issues.

Test in Safe Mode:

  • Boot your laptop into Safe Mode and see if the issue persists. If the speakers work fine in Safe Mode, a third-party application or driver might be causing the problem.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
