@Faisal_Ali Welcome to HP Community!

Here are a few steps that should help your cause:

Method 1. Uninstall particular Windows updates

If the notification sound stopped working after a particular update, then try to remove the particular Windows update to see if that makes any difference. For example, you cannot get notification alert for incoming emails after an update related with your email client, try to remove that update to fix the sound issue.

To uninstall an unwanted Windows update:

1. Type "View Installed Updates" in Search box and tap View Installed Updates – Control Panel from the Search results.

2. Select the unwanted update from the list and click Uninstall button.

3. If it prompts for confirmation, just confirm it.

After uninstalling the update, restart your PC to check whether everything is fine now. It this does the trick, please temporary block the update from automatically installing again.

If uninstalling the updates still cannot get the notification sound work again, please try to perform a system restore.

Method 2. System Restore

System Restore doesn't change your personal files, but it might remove recently installed apps and drivers. Here are the steps.

  • Press Windows Key R to open run command
  • Type rstrui and hit Enter key.
  • Select Recommended Restore or any other restore point and click Next

Follow the instructions to restore your PC to earlier. Now the notification sound should work without any problem.

Hence, if your Windows 10 notification sound does not work after updating to Windows 10, try the tips and tricks to resolve quickly. You may also have interest in topics about recover Windows 10 password, or fix Windows 10 update error 80240020 .
