Hi:

 

If you are running Windows 10 see if installing this IDT audio driver from a newer model notebook also works for yours.

 

IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver

 

6.10.6492.0

 

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71886.exe 

 

Restart the PC after installing the driver. 

 

After the driver has installed, make sure that the PC speakers are set as the default output.

 

Sometimes this driver sets the PC headphone jack as the default output device.
