Victus by HP 15.6 inch Gaming Laptop 15-fb0000 (598U8AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have Hp Victus-15, does it support 24-bit audio in 3.5mm jack? I tried to change it in sound setting>more sound setting but it is locked in 16-bit 48khz audio, I checked for driver update, and nothing worked.

Hi @dineshkanna_t,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

No, most HP Victus laptops (including the 15-fb0000 series) use Realtek HD Audio codecs that typically support 16-bit, 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz on the analog 3.5mm jack.
24-bit audio is usually available only through:

  • Digital outputs (HDMI or USB DAC)
  • High-end external audio interfaces

Why Is It Locked at 16-bit 48 kHz?

  • The driver exposes only the supported formats for the built-in codec.
  • HP’s hardware design for this model does not include a DAC capable of 24-bit output on the headphone jack.

What You Can Do

💡 Tip: When you plug in a high-quality DAC and see the option for 24-bit/96 kHz appear in Windows Sound settings, that’s when you know your audio chain is truly upgraded.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
