Hello. I've been noticing a popping/crackling issue using headsets/earphones in wired mode, expecially when opening new windows or scrolling down, with the music in backgroung. Are you aware of this issue? Could it be related to Realtek drivers? Thank you.

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊

Thank you very much. Updating BIOS to latest version has greatly improved the situation but it doesn't solve the issue entirely. Once every 10-15 minutes, there is like a slight but annoying 'pop'. It often happens when I open Microsoft Edge, for example. Sometimes however it's completely random. Could it be related to new Windows 10 updates and Realtek drivers?

HP Recommended

If could be related to an update, but since it's random it's narrow down the issue

You could try a System Restore to an earlier date before the issue started and check if that helps

ciao,

ti ringrazio ancora, perchè stavo veramente impazzendo

None of the technical assistants is able to solve or explain these easy solutions. Yers ago there were very capable boys at the HP call center in Milan. Now the Serbian technical support is totally useless. They give the same answer for everything (reinstall BIOS and drivers and goodbye). All of us have noticed some audio issues, using headsets, since we got this PC, and these problems have not been solved yet: 2 seconds delay at the beginning of a song; crackling sound after a stand-by state (fixed only by unplugging and plugging in again headsets phone jack, every time); and now this annoying popping (if the pc is managing other processes). No one is interested in investigating and searching solutions , no one of HP is interested to keep customers.
