@bnjcWelcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding audio drivers for your HP unit!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

As you've noted, this model may not have official Windows 11 drivers, which could contribute to the audio disruptions. Here's how you can address this problem:

Update Audio Drivers:

  • Visit HP's Official Support Page:

    • Access this link.
    • Download and install the latest audio driver available for your model.
  • Use Windows Device Manager:

    • Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
    • Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
    • Right-click on your audio device (e.g., Realtek High Definition Audio) and select Update driver.
    • Choose Search automatically for drivers.

Run Windows Update:

  • Ensure your system is up-to-date:
    • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    • Click Check for updates and install any available updates.

Roll Back Audio Driver:

  • If the issue started after a recent driver update:
    • In Device Manager, right-click your audio device and select Properties.
    • Navigate to the Driver tab and click Roll Back Driver if the option is available.

Adjust Audio Settings:

  • Sometimes, enhancements can cause issues:
    • Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select Sounds.
    • Go to the Playback tab, select your audio device, and click Properties.
    • Under the Enhancements tab, check Disable all enhancements.

Use HP Support Assistant:

  • This tool can help identify and install necessary drivers:
    • Download and install HP Support assistant.
    • Run the application to check for updates and install any recommended drivers.

Consider Compatibility:

  • As you've mentioned, the lack of official Windows 11 drivers for your model might be causing these issues. If the problem persists after trying the above steps, you might consider reverting to Windows 10, where the drivers are fully supported.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
