Hi @TK-Gratus,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop speakers are producing very faint sound even when the volume is turned up, here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and fix the issue on Windows 11:

1. Check Volume Mixer

  • Right-click the speaker icon in the taskbar → select Open Volume Mixer.
  • Make sure all sliders (especially for apps like Chrome, Zoom, etc.) are turned up.

2. Set the Correct Output Device

  • Go to Settings > System > Sound.
  • Under Output, make sure your laptop speakers are selected (not headphones or HDMI).

3. Run the Audio Troubleshooter

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  • Run the Playing Audio troubleshooter and follow the prompts.

4. Update or Reinstall Audio Drivers

  • Press Windows + X → select Device Manager.
  • Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
  • Right-click your audio device (e.g., Realtek, Intel, or HP Audio) → choose Update driver.
  • If that doesn’t help, try uninstalling the device, then restart your PC to reinstall it automatically.

5. Disable Audio Enhancements

  • Go to Settings > System > Sound > More sound settings (under Advanced).
  • In the Playback tab, double-click your speakers.
  • Go to the Enhancements tab and check Disable all enhancements.
  • Click Apply and OK.

6. Check Communications Settings

  • In the same Sound settings, go to the Communications tab.
  • Set it to Do nothing (Windows sometimes lowers volume during calls).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
