Hi @Akif313,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP ENVY 16-h1xxx laptop currently has no sound. Let’s go through some steps to diagnose and fix this issue.

1. Check Volume & Output

Make sure the volume is turned up (system tray icon or keyboard keys).

Click the speaker icon → ensure the correct playback device is selected (e.g., “Speakers/HP Envy Audio”).

2. Check Audio Output

Press Windows + X → Sound Settings → Output.

Ensure the output device isn’t muted or set to a disconnected device.

3. Restart Windows Audio Services

Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.

Find Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder.

Right-click → Restart.

Check if sound is restored.

4. Update/Reinstall Audio Driver

Press Windows + X → Device Manager → Sound, video, and game controllers.

Right-click your audio device (e.g., Realtek/Intel Audio) → Update driver → Search automatically.

If it still doesn’t work, uninstall the device → restart the laptop → Windows will reinstall the driver automatically.

5. Run Windows Troubleshooter

Settings → System → Troubleshoot → Other troubleshooters → Playing Audio → Run.

Follow prompts to detect and fix audio issues.

6. Check BIOS / Hardware

Restart the laptop → press Esc/F10 to enter BIOS.

Ensure Audio/HD Audio Controller is enabled.

If BIOS has no sound settings enabled or disabled, enable it and restart.

7. Test External Audio

Connect headphones or external speakers to see if they produce sound.

If they work, the issue may be with the laptop speakers themselves.

I hope this helps.
