the microphone of my laptop is not working with apps like whatsapp during calls and while recording in camera or sound recorder. But the microphone works with apps like chrome while performing voice search and for alexa also what should i do

Let me check your basic system configuration before we dive deeper ...

 

(1) Run    msinfo32

- Select <System Summary>:

--->>> Copy/screenshot/paste following key/value pairs:

 

OS Name

Version

System Model

System SKU

( equals HP product number (p/n) )

Processor

BIOS Version/Date

BaseBoard Product

BaseBoard Version

 

(2) Start Windows <Device Manager>

- Expand <Other devices> ? (Those entries are for hardware for which Windows has not loaded a suitable driver)

- Expand <Audio inputs and outputs>

- Expand <Bluetooth USB>

- Expand <Network adapters>

- Expand <Sound, video and game controllers>

--->>> Send screenshot

 

(3) Please report your results

(1) Create Windows system <restore point>

(2) Download and install / update

Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver

6.0.9301.1 Rev.A86.6 MBMar 10, 2022Download

 

(3) Restart Windows

(4) Test your notebook

(5) Please report your results

i updated all the drivers and did allow all the permissions to the microphone but still this did not help
