Spectre X360 13 inch 2 in 1
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I regularly join zoom calls to play and hear music, specifically bandoneon (a free reed instrument like a concertina but with more range). I used to use a Surface 6 Pro but recently got a Spectre X360, last week my music teacher told me she can hear me speaking but when I play the sound is chopped and distorted, with many frequencies missing altogether - completely unusable.

We reviewed the zoom settings and thy are right for this usage. I have tried using an external microphone used by other bandoneon players, an AT2020 usb+ but that made no difference . I tried experimenting with the Voice Recorder app and that confirms the problem, human voice is OK but the internal and external (AT2020) can't handle the instrument. I still have the Surface and that still works. I believe it is something wrong with the sound processing on the Spectre but can't find any adjustable settings to correct it. Before I send the Spectre back and carry on with the Surface does anyone have any suggestions?
