Updating the BIOS is recommended as standard maintenance of the computer. It can also help resolve the following issues:

      • An available BIOS update resolves a specific issue or improves computer performance.
      • The current BIOS does not support a hardware component or a Windows upgrade.
      • HP Support recommends installing a specific BIOS update.

Hi ub6424,

I have made several attempts to update the bios, as was suggested, but without success.

HP tell me that a bios update is not available, Microsoft says the same thing.

Looking into the details of the bios, it says flash update is not available, we do seem to be somewhat stymied.

Had I realised that I would lose the audio app when I upgraded to win 11, I would not have taken the upgrade, it seems to be nothing but trouble.

Thank you very much indeed for all your efforts on my behalf, it is very much appreciated.

Hello @ammanford36

Thanks for reporting.

You are on an uncertain path with Windows 11 ...

Recommendation and solution

You should downgrade to Windows 10 because Windows 11 has not been officially tested and released by <HP> and there are no Windows 11 drivers  available.

(1) Make backup copies of the most important personal files and data to external <USB hard drive>.

(2Downgrade

Please read and follow the guide carefully !

Downgrade from Windows 11 to Windows 10

See Section <How to downgrade Windows 11 to Windows 10 after 10 days>
