I am in the market for a new laptop. I bought and have loved using the HP xb4 Notebook Media Docking Station. I would like to buy a new HP laptop that will allow me to continue using the docking station.
What new HP laptops are compatible with the HP xb4 Notebook Media Docking Station?

Hi,
The good news is, it compatible with all laptops which have USB 2.0 ports (you can use USB 3.0 port but won't get USB 3.0 speed):

Hi, the question is still open ... the answer "The docking station is compatible with all HP and Compaq notebooks having a USB 2.0 port" just refers to the USB compatibilty. That's known and doesn't help.
The question are "What new HP laptops are compatible with the HP xb4 Notebook Media Docking Station?"
and "Has anyone found ANY connector or adaptor that will connect to the xb4 Docking Station and to a new laptop such as the HP Pavilion g series?"
thank you

The latest model I was able to find with the expansion port 3 is the dv7-3180us that features a first gen i7, DDR3 and a nvidia 230M...
Has anybody found anything newer that this? I would love to know, we really enjoy the docking stations!

Hello
Yes just connect to the side ports.. Use a usb printer cable. Attach the sub plug to any of your sub ports and connect the printer plug to side of dock turn on your laptop and it will start to download the driver and once that done you can connect any monitor and any of your other gadgets to the docking station. I hope this was helpful?
