15-ay013nr will not start

15-ay013nr
Microsoft Windows 8 (64-bit)

The led near the AC adator is on and white.  After you press and release the power button, the power led comes on for about 5 seconds and then goes off.  The PC makes no sound or any indication of trying to boot.

 

I've tried the hard reset (repeatedly) also did the step by step instructions including reinserting the RAM. I've tried booting with the battery removed.  All had no effect. Any other ideas or do I need to send this in under warranty?

15-ay013nr will not start

I would request warranty service. Start a request here. Under 'select your issue" choose not listed since you have tried the troubleshooting. The button will then become clickable for "Continue to contact HP".
